Renovation Update - September 14 - Sod and Sand

IMG 0481The first trucks delivering sod arrived on Wednesday, and crews from Valley Landscaping started installing the fescue turf around the tee complex on the first hole. The process is like piecing together a jigsaw puzzle and the payoff is almost immediate. Sod transforms an expanse of dirt into green grass in a matter of hours.

While sodding was taking place on #1 tees, sand was being installed in the greenside bunker on #1. On Thursday, two types of grass will be placed around the first green. An outer loop of fescue will be put down, and an inner ring of Zeon Zoysia will circle the green, which is prepped for seeding. The bunker surround will also be sodded with Zeon Zoysia. The tee tops on hole #1 are also ready for a bed of Zoysia. Once the sod is in place, the final thing left on hole #1 will be seeding the green.

It remains CRITICAL during this phase to keep pedestrian traffic off the golf course. Please don't walk or ride bicycles on the property. For the safety of everyone and to protect our newly planted turf during and after construction, the property is CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC. Signs are posted on the perimeter reminding people that there is NO TRESPASSING during construction. Please use the walking trail around the perimeter. Once construction is complete, it will be necessary to remain closed to allow the new grass to establish itself. The course will re-open in the late spring/early summer. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we make improvements.

Please, follow our progress on Facebook and Twitter. We are constantly adding construction photos to our Facebook page in the "2017 Renovation" album.
