Renovation Update - September 25 - Seeding, Sodding and Mowing?

IMG 0687
Sodding of green and bunker surrounds continues and shaping work is being finalized around tee complexes on holes 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. Sodding is already complete on the tees and greens on holes 1, 2 and 9, and today that fescue sod was mowed for the first time.

Much of the finishing work on the golf course is scheduled to happen this week. Then attention will turn to the putting green and short game area as construction wraps up in the next couple of weeks.

Tomorrow, the fairways that were seeded just three weeks ago will be mowed for the first time. Fairways on holes 7, 9, and the lower part of 8 will be seeded this week. Some of the tie in areas around greens will also be seeded. Soon, the cart path additions will also start to be installed.

With all the exciting things happening as construction continues, it is frustrating to see vandalism occur. In the photo to the left, you can see damage to the newly seeded second green that happened over the weekend by someone who ignored the posted NO TRESPASSING signs. It remains CRITICAL during this phase to keep pedestrian traffic off the golf course. Please don't walk or ride bicycles on the property. For the safety of everyone and to protect our newly planted turf during and after construction, the property is CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC. Signs are posted on the perimeter reminding people that there is NO TRESPASSING during construction. Please use the walking trail around the perimeter. Once construction is complete, it will be necessary to remain closed to allow the new grass to establish itself. The course will re-open in the late spring/early summer. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we make improvements.
